Working Parties

NOTE: There will be no working party on 3rd August

Volunteers meet on the first Sunday of every month at 10am. The meeting point is the locked gate opposite the Thornton end car park. If you arrive later, walk to the reserve and find the working party.

Working party dates in the next 6 months:

Volunteers assist with varied tasks, including scrub clearance, pond maintenance, fence repairs, tree felling and plant survey work.

What to bring:

  • A picnic lunch and plenty to drink
  • Hardwearing shoes/boots or Wellingtons
  • Old warm clothes
  • Waterproofs
  • Gardening gloves if you have any

No experience is necessary and people of all ages and abilities participate. Yorkshire Wildlife Trust encourages volunteers to take training in brush cutting, chain saw operation and first aid.
